Imphal, September 28 2015:
The NSCN/GPRN has denied involvement of its cadres in looting drivers of Manipur bound trucks along NH-37 recently.
A statement issued by the MIP, NSCN/GPRN clarified that there is no question of its cadres being involved in such framed up incident.
"It is expected as always that for every failure of Manipur State law enforcing agency and administrative incompetency under Chief Minister Ibobi Singh and Home Minister Gaikhangam, the NSCN has always been their safe haven for dumping responsibility," it said.
As one of the most heavily militarised zones in North East, it is a pity that trucks are being robbed right under the nose of their dreaded security arrangement, it said.
"If at all such reports are true, Ibobi and Gaikhangam should hang their boot in shame ! Without reining in the hordes of goons and mercenaries created with wicked purposes, designed to counter NSCN but without feeding them properly, they become highway criminals.
In the future we will suggest the Manipur State Government to probe such incident first before pointing fingers at NSCN," it added.
