The United Naga Council, UNC, has appealed to the state government not to take action against Naga employees serving in the valley who have fled to the hill districts during the anti-ceasefire extension and are not attending duty.
The UNC, in a memorandum to the state chief secretary, urged the latter to withdraw an office memorandum served on 22 Naga employees of the Manipur secretariat in this regard.
The UNC, reiterating the charge that Nagas in the valley were directly or indirectly threatened, intimated and pressurized to participate is the anti-ceasefire agitation against their will, said it is not possible for Nagas to continue living in Imphal upholding their rights and.

It also asked for alternative posting arrangements for Naga employees in the hill districts of Chandel, Senapati, Ukhrul and Tamenglong.
In the meantime, the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong, TKS, has drawn the urgent attention of the Governor of Man'pur to the plight of displaced Naga people taking shelter in Ukhrul district, charging that the district administration has turned a blind eye to their grievances.
According to the TKS, them are, altogether 21,231 displaced Nagas taking shelter in Ukhrul district.
The TKS also stated that 5273 displaced students have left their educational institutions in the valley area and were seeking admission elsewhere.
It urged the Governor to look into their, grievances and allow them to be transferred from their respective institutions.
