Mishaps claim three

Imphal, June 27 2012:
At least three persons have been killed in two separate road accidents.
A police source informed that the first mishap occurred near Lamkang Khunou Nepal Tirum canal under Tengnoupal police station along Imphal-Moreh road at about 7.15 am.
Two trucks carrying sand were heading towards Imphal back to back when the leading truck started swerving due to technical failure.
As the second driver of the truck identified as Md Waris Khan (23) from Yairipok Malom Jalijonbi jumped out from the truck to save himself, he was run over by the second truck.
Waris Khan was killed on the spot.
Md Sabir Khan (22) belonging to the same locality sustained injuries due to the mishap.
But he too succumbed to the injuries at Shija Hospital at around 3.25 pm.
Both the corpses have been deposited at JNIMS mortuary.
The second mishap took place near Kakching Lamdong Telecom office at around 6 pm today.
One Honda Activa rider was killed while the pillion rider sustained injuries when they were rammed by a Tata Magic van.
The deceased victim has been identified as Naorem Rojitkumar alias Angangnupa (29) s/o Sanatomba of Kakching Makha Leikai, Rajdhani Pareng.
The injured victim is one Salam Sanjoy (31) of Kakching Makha Leikai, Naodam Pareng.
He is currently undergoing treatment at Jivan Hospital, Kakching.
