NPF condemns

The Naga People's Front, Manipur State Unit, has strongly condemned the arrest of Gaidon Kamei, president of the United Naga Council (UNC) along with information secretary Stephan Sangkhil at Pheidinga on November 25 .
The NPF called an emergency sitting in the late evening yesterday where the present law and order situation in the State was discussed, a statement informed.
The party, while demanding immediate and unconditional release of the UNC leaders, has appealed to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister to solve the present imbroglio amicably and bring normalcy to the State.
The party charged the ruling Government of not solving any issue in time.
NPF, in the statement, also condemned the alleged physical assault on Stephen Sangkhil.
The problem, the NPF said, cannot be solved by arresting UNC leaders.
The situation may worsen if the Government fails to handle the situation justly, it said.
The party has further appealed to all sections of the people to maintain peace and tranquillity in the State.
