Imphal, October 24 2018:
Somsai Battalion of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) handed over 14 Embroidery Machines to the Ukhrul Handloom Society on 24th October.
The society empowers unemployed women by providing them training on sewing and embroidery.
Presently 30 women are being trained and employed by the handloom society.

The new machines will enable the handloom society to expand and provide greater scope of employment to the women of the district.
Ukhrul Handloom Society acknowledged the effort of the unit and conveyed their heartfelt gratitude for the support received from the Assam Rifles towards overall development and progress in the region.
