Khuman Lampak gets dispensary

A dispensary has been inaugurated by the Health Minister L Jayanta Kumar at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex today.
Expressing satisfaction that the medical facility has finally become a reality, the Minister said apart from physical effort on a regular basis by the players to remain in competitive form availability of such a facility has become essential to ensure speedy recovery of sportspersons.
While noting that Manipuri sportspersons have proved beyond doubt their capability in both the national and international level of competition, he exuded confidence that the new facility will boost morale of the players.
Furthering mentioning that the Khuman Lampak dispensary inaugurated today is the 46th of its kind in the State in addition to over 420 primary health care centres in various parts of Manipur, the Health Minister further assured that a medical officer will be assigned for duty for atleast four days in a month in the dispensary, which will have one nurse, a pharmacist and a grade IV employee.
Speaking at the occasion, Joint Director of Youth Affairs and Sports Ksh Pramoda said there are over 1500 sportspersons who are utilising various sports facilities in Khuman Lampak in preparation of different upcoming competitions.
Drawing the Minister's attention on the need for posting of a doctor on a permanent basis in the dispensary, the YAS official conveyed thanks to the Government for setting up the dispensary, which he said will be able to address past inconveniences whenever there is injury of players.
Among others Additional director of the State Medical Directorate L Surchandra also attended the dispensary inauguration programme.
