Street corner meeting and poster campaign against drugs held

Kakching, June 24 2017:
Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) organised a street corner meeting and poster campaign against drug abuse at different areas of Kakching district today .
Prior to the observation of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, CADA under the supervision of Department of Social Welfare has been conducting street corner meeting, wall poster campaign, group discussion in different areas of the State since June 21, reports our correspondent .
The motive of conducting the campaign was to seek the attention of the State Government regarding matters like ban on brewing of local liquor, implementation of Manipur Liquor Prohibition Act 1991, restriction of tobacco items, formulation of a State drug policy and penalty of drug smugglers .
Meanwhile, AMSU and CADA conducted a drug campaign at Martin Grammar English school, Kakching where an awareness programme was also held at the school .
Posters of the anti-drug campaign were explained to the students.
AMSU president Moirangthem Prabin, CADA vice-president Doren and Martin Grammar school headmaster Moirangthem Manihar Singh took part in the session .
