Imphal, February 24 2013 :
Maring Students' Union (MSU) has expressed shock over the white paper issued by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) on the issue of eligibility to appear in the HSLC examination 2013 .
A press statement of the students' body said that the candidates who have filled up application forms issued by BOSEM for the upcoming examination would not be allowed to appear on the ground that allowing them to take the examination would be sub-judice because the AMGSO and the concerned schools have failed to withdraw the writ petition field at the Gauhati High Court on the matter.
MSU questioned why the BOSEM issued application forms to 1924 students while the case is still pending at the Court, the press statement added.
Saying that MSU stands for quality education, the press statement said that the attempt of BOSEM which allowed registration of 7000 students violating its own rules and regulations is strongly condemnable as the attempt threatens quality education.
The MSU has given enough time to BOSEM to give up indifferent attitude to the poor 'state of affairs' of education in hill areas, the press statement added.
MSU further said that the students' body did not oppose the move of the BOSEM but closely monitoring the steps of the Board on the issue.
However, barring the students who have filled up application forms is highly condemnable and invited serious intervention.
