National seminar concludes

The four days National seminar on Manipuri dance and music, organised by JNMDA in association with Manipuri State Kala Akademi, Imphal, wrapped up today.
Lok Sabha MP RK Ranjan, eminent Kathak artiste Jayanta Kastuar and Art and Culture, GoM former Commissioner RK Nimai attended the function as dignitaries.
Speaking at the valedictory function, RK Ranjan maintained that the four days seminar, which discusses on different aspects of Manipuri dance and music, have broadened the knowledge of the artistes and benefited them to a greater extent.
The seminar was followed by presentation of rare manipuri Performing Arts, organised daily at 5 pm.
In the 11th session of the seminar, Ranjit Adhikarimayum and A Lakhmi presented a paper on "Classical Manipuri Solo Dance and Dance Drama" with demonstration while in the 12th session, Ksh Thouranishabi, M Kaminikumar and K Kumar presented a paper on "Manipuri Raas Leela" with demonstration.
In the last session, a paper in "Reflection on Manipuri dance and music" was presented by Jayant Kastaur and Debjani Chaliha.
Meanwhile, delegates namely RK Singhajit, Kalavati, Sharon Lowen, Tapti Choudhuri, Santanu Gangopadhyay, Yenkhom Hemanta Kumar, Sruti Bandopadhay and Jadab Bora shared their views.
Altogether 200 members attended the seminar, which concluded with the presentation of Shakuntala, by artistes of the academy.
