Imphal, August 23 2011:
In connection with the death of one Ksh Gobind of Kongpal Chanam Leikai, one Ksh Bimolata has clarified that her family is not involved in the case, in any manner.
speaking to newspersons at Manipur Press Club today, 50-year old Bimolata w/o Ksh Rameshor recounted that at about 11 pm of August 20, she along with her other family members rushed out of home to enquire upon hearing a commotion near their entrance gate.
On reaching the gate, an unidentified person (who turned out to be the victim Gobind) was sighted being beaten up by three persons, whom Bimolata identified as Waikhom Tompok, Waikhom Suten and Waikhom Heramani.
Contending that during the confrontation the garage and window shield of a car were damaged, Bimolata further claimed of seeing the unidentified youth taken toward the Iril river bank and interrogated near a tree by some locals.
Further maintaining that during questioning the unidentified person fell into the river and that hectic search was launched by the youths and womenfolk of the locality as an alarm was raised by clanking the electric poles, she also quoted some locals as saying that the police on being informed about the incident conveyed to come after daybreak.
upon realising that the person who fell into the river was Gobind information was subsequently given to the youth's family about the incident who also responded that the matter be discussed in the morning, she said adding that vehicle belonging to Gobind remained parked near her residential gate for the night.
strongly condemning some individuals ransacking her house and torching of vehicle, Bimolata also described as premature and unjustifiable the police action of taking into their custody her husband Rameshor along with three of her brothers in-law namely Jeteshor, Manoranjan and Sonamani as accused persons.
Reiterating that the four having nothing to do with the death of Ksh Gobind, Bimolata said if found guilty she and her entire family will accept any form of punishment.
