Full dress rehearsal held ahead of R-Day

For the first time in the history of Republic Day parade, a horse riding contingent of the Manipur Police Sport Club took part in a full dress rehearsal of the Republic Day parade along with students of various Government institutions and security personnel today.
The rehearsal parade was conducted under very tight security measures with all the roads leading towards the parade route being diverted to alternate routes from early morning onward.
IPS Officer Wahengbem Mamata Devi (SP, CID), who will command the coming Republic Day parade, acted as the parade commander for the full dress rehearsal.
The march parch contingent exited from 1st Manipur Rifles parade ground and after passing by the Chief Minister bungalow headed towards the southern gate of Kangla Fort.
Passing through the saluting base in front of Kangla Uttra Shanglen, the parade exited through the northern gate and proceeded towards Khoyathong LIC office.
From there, the parade passed through Kanglapat road from the western Kangla gate and reached the starting point at 1st MR parade ground, thus concluding the rehearsal.
Around 100 parade contingent took part in the full dress rehearsal which included paramilitary forces etc.
