Complaint filed against assault

Terming the allegations levelled against them by BJP Sagolband Mandal as baseless, Soiraisham Amu Singh, Soiraisham Geeta Devi and Akoijam Sorojini Devi said that they have jointly lodged a complaint with the police against four persons who allegedly assaulted them.
Addressing a press meet held at Manipur Press Club this evening, Akoijam Sorojini said that the baseless allegations made through some local dailies has harmed her modesty.
She said that BJP Sagolband Mandal tried to relate the incident with the recently held Assembly election which is not true.
Sorojini narrated that on March 14 she along with Soiraisham Amu and Soiraisham Geeta went to collect utensils on a Maruti van for holding a feast related to Holi festival.
She claimed that they were rounded up by a mob at Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai where they were assaulted by the mob besides vandalising their vehicle.
She also claimed that the mob used abusive words against them in front of a large number of people gathered at the incident site.
Sorojini mentioned that she was again beaten up by some individuals when she was about to return home.
She said that a complaint was filed in Lamphel police station against the four persons who assaulted them.
They are Ingudam Naocha (26) s/o (L) Tomei Singh, his elder brother Manoranjan (28), Wangkheimayum Mala Devi (55) w/o Ibohal and Ingudam Mandakini Devi (49) w/o Tomei all from Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai.
She clarified that the Sagolband MLA has nothing to do with the incident.
Nameirakpam Dilip, younger brother of Sorojini, who was present at the press meet asked BJP Sagolband Mandal to clarify why the allegations were made at the earliest failing which a lawsuit will be filed.
