The water supply at Thangalawai Mamang Leikai had been functioning under the committee with the funding of the department concerned since 2012.But after reformation of the committee in 2017, the committee stopped receiving funds from the department forcing the water supply to shut down gradually, he said adding the committee has been managing the water supply scheme on their own without any fund.
People of four Wards under Kha Thinungei Gram Panchayat - Thangalawai Sabal Leikai, Thangalawai Khuman Leikai, Thangalawai Mamang Leikai and Kangshoibi Mapal etc depend on the water supply scheme for clean drinking water, he said urging department concerned and Government to look into the grievances of the people.
