TSE reporter to receive best reporting award

The Department of Information and Public Relations will observe National Press Day, 2020 cum Workshop on the theme provided by Press Council of India "Role of media during COVID-19 Pandemic and its impact on Media" on November 16 at DIPR Auditorium, DIPR complex, Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal.
The function will be graced by Information and Public Relations (IPR) Minister, Th Biswajit Singh, Commissioner (IPR) M Joy Singh and Director (IPR) H Balkrisna Singh as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
As part of the programme, Manipur State Journalist Awards, 2020 will be presented to the selected eight journalists of the State in different categories.
Ningombam Hemantakumar, Editor, Sanaleibak for Best Editor award, Khagembam Shanker Singh, Sr Reporter, Sanaleibak (Science and Technology reporting), Kshetri Meghajit, Sub-Editor, Naharolgi Thoudang.(Parliamentary reporting), Ngangom Suraj Kumar Singh, staff reporter, Sanaleibak (Reporting with special Reference to Women and Children), Maibam Kenedy Singh, staff reporter, Sanaleibak (Reporting on Art and Culture), Sapam Aruna Devi, staff reporter, Sangai Express (Rural reporting), Khagembam Rabikumar Meitei, staff reporter, Sanaleibak (Sports reporting) and Angom Ranjit Singh, chief reporter, Poknapham (Reporting on Public Health and Hygiene) will receive the awards.
In the second session, Dr A Ibomcha Sharma, Head of Office, Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal will moderate a workshop on "Role of Media during the COVID-19 Pandemic and its Impact on Media" .
Salam Chingkheinganba, member All Manipur Working Journalists' Union, Yumnam Rupachandra, secretary general, Editors Guild Manipur and Ramkung Pamei, president, Manipur Hills Journalist Union will present papers as resource persons which will be followed by an interaction and discussion session.
Mention may be made that National Press Day is being observed on November 16 every year across the country with different themes provided by Press Council of India.
The award carries a cash component and a citation from the DIPR.
