Imphal, April 13 2022:
The proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) has extended wishes to the people as well as the revolutionary groups of Kangleipak and WESEA region on the eve of its 42nd foundation day.
A press release issued by KCP central committee stated that globalization and advancement of information, communication and technology have made the world smaller as barriers between various cultures in contemporary society tend to decrease for mutual benefits.
In spite of this advancement, different ethnic groups continue to settle in different places of the earth and have been preserving their unique identities since the advent of writing system, the outfit said and added that every ethnic group has a name, common belief, shared cultural history, origin myth, sense of community and language among others as per noted historical sociologist Anthony Smith.
KCP claimed that the very definition of ethnic group or ethnicity is still imperfect and has many debatable points according to experts.
Claiming that the definition of Nation also varies from one expert to another, it claimed that Benedict Anderson defined Nation as "an imagined political community," while Smith argued it as an outcome of effort of one or more ethnic groups to form a common identity under a fixed geographical area .
In the contemporary society, every small ethnic group has been putting tremendous effort to preserve their identities by hook or crook as globalization progresses rapidly, KCP said and claimed that different armed outfits in the WESEA region too have been carrying forward a freedom struggle to regain the lost independence of various erstwhile kingdoms which were allegedly annexed by India and to preserve their identities.
Claiming that WESEA is in a very difficult position today due to alleged oppression by India and large-scale incursion of non locals into the region, KCP claimed that the situation is so grave that even non locals have started winning election in the region.
KCP further claimed that globalization means Indianisation in the context of India.
Claiming that speed of Indianisation has become even more faster after 'Hindutva fundamentalist' took power at both the Centre and the State, KCP claimed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has made a declaration to compulsorily teach Hindi up to Class X in all North East States on April 7 without considering the interest of the people.
Further claiming that the sole aim of the move is to abolish the uniqueness of North East States, KCP added that all the people in the region must oppose any form of imposition in the region collectively.
KCP also claimed that the process of Indianisation which is gaining momentum across the country 'poses a serious threat to North East India which has distinct features' .
"These tactics to impose Hindi on non Hindi speaking States must be challenged by all academicians, intellectuals and people of the North East region," KCP claimed and alleged that the BJP led Government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to be running the country on its fancy and whims.
Claiming that waging war against India to regain the independence of Kangleipak is never easy as there are roadblocks and hindrances in all directions, the KCP claimed that joining the mainstream is easier to them but such can be done only by renegades.
"We must fight collectively to free Kangleipak from the colonial yoke of India," it urged.
