CIRCA to celebrate MI Day

Coalition for Indigene's Right Campaign (CIRCA) has extended warm greetings to the people of the State and the North Eastern region in the light of the coming 70th Manipur Independence Day celebration on August 14 which will be marked by the unfurling of the National flag of Manipur with the symbol of Lord Pakhangba embossed on it by titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba at the Royal palace .
Speaking to media persons at the Royal palace today, CIRCA convenor Somorendro Thokchom said that CIRCA first observed Manipur Independence day on August 14, 2016 at Old royal palace with Leishemba Sanajaoba hoisting the National flag of Manipur with the symbol of Lord Pakhangba embossed on it and the event attracted a huge number of people from different parts of the State which inspired CIRCA to host this year's event on an even bigger scale .
He said that the stage has been set for observing the 70th Manipur Independence day with the main function to be held at Royal palace .
Somorendro stated that on August 14, the flag will be unfurled at 500 schools across the State and in more than 300 different localities .
"The Manipur National flag will be unfurled everyday till October 18, where CIRCA will observe Manipur National day and on September 20, the flag will be hoisted only at the half mark as a sign of protest against the merger agreement", he added.
