A team of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) led by its organisation secretary Sunil Ambedkar held an interaction session with Post Graduate students in the auditorium of Manipur Institute of Management Studies (MIMS), Manipur University today.
Speaking at the interaction session organised by the ABVP Manipur State, Sunil Ambedkar said that ABVP is a democratic organisation of students for the students.
Since its registration on July 9, 1949, ABVP has been working for the people of the Nation, specially students.
Though it started as a small, humble organisation, ABVP is now the largest student organisation of the country.
Students took big roles in the country's freedom struggle, he added.
After independence, ABVP has been studying the changing roles of students in the society.
Students' power was never a nuisance to the society.
It rather played a big role in Nation building.
Issues and problems of students can be understood only by students and it is the students who must work together to resolve their problems, Sunil Ambedkar said.
ABVP Manipur State president Prof Laishram Joykumar and general secretary Narendra Sapam were also present at the interaction session.
MIMS Director, faculty members and students of Manipur University took part in the interaction session.
A poster embossed with the words 'Join ABVP' was also released at the gathering.
