Governor, CM, Dy CM extend Diwali greetings

Governor of Manipur V Shanmuganathan on Tuesday extended his heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur on the joyous and auspicious occasion of Diwali on November 11, 2015 .
In his message, the Governor said that Diwali is one of the biggest festivals of the Hindus celebrated with great devotion and gaiety across the length and breadth of the country and even in other parts of the world.
The festival is also popularly known as the 'festival of light' and signifies the triumph of the good over the evil.
The illumination on this day marks the joy and happiness on the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhaya after defeating Ravana.
"Let the light of Diwali dispel hatred, enmity and disunity among the people of the State and let us all join in the celebration of Diwali and pray that this festival may bring peace and prosperity to the State", he added.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister O Ibobi and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam also extended greetings and wishes to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Diwali.
The two leaders also said that Diwali is a harbinger of peace, joy and prosperity.
The festival signifies the victory of good over evil, virtue over vice and light over darkness.
The Chief Minister said Diwali is an occasion for strengthening bonds of friendship and goodwill between people of all communities and religions.
"May the noble ideals of the festival usher in peace, prosperity and happiness in our lives, they wishes", said Ibobi.
