Rahul to land in Imphal today

Imphal, December 09 2012:
General Secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) and Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi would be visiting the State tomorrow for a brief halt of two and a half hours.
Rahul would start from Delhi in a special flight at around 8:35 am and land at Imphal Tulihal Airport at 11:05 am tomorrow.
From the airport, Rahul would come by road.
For this, State Police Department has put in place necessary security arrangements.
Soon after his arrival, Rahul would inaugurate a State Level Convention of the newly elected Panchayat Members of the party at Hapta Kangjeibung at 11:30 am.
Rahul Gandhi would grace the convention as Chief Guest while Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, who is also the president of the MPCC would preside over the event to be attended by CM O Ibobi as Guest of Honour.
After addressing the inaugural function of the convention, Rahul would depart from Hapta Kangjeibung at 12:30 pm and at 12:55 pm he will depart for Delhi in the same Special Aircraft and will reach Delhi by 3:45 pm.
All necessary security arrangements have been taken up for his arrival and the State Government is all set to receive him just like a Prime Minister.
Security personnel in uniform have been ordered to provide adequate security to the VVIP and his entourage.
Separate plain clothes security arrangements have also been issued by the State SPCID (SB)/Manipur.
According to the sequence of the places to be visited and the movement of the VVIP entourage, separate security arrangements have been deployed in and around Tulihal Airport as well as for ROP from Airport to Hapta Kangjeibung.
Security deployments have also been put in place along the embankment of Imphal River.
Personnel of CISF have already been posted inside Imphal Airport for overall security under the command of Rajesh Kapoor, Deputy Commandant, CISF.
This is in addition to the unarmed and plainclothes security personnel of State CID being deployed.
Inspector L Santosh, OC Singjamei PS has been assigned to undertake crowd control measures outside the terminal building of the Airport.
Sixteen Units of Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal would be deployed for the security arrangements and mobile patrolling has already been intensified.
139 security posts have also been opened in and around Imphal area.
