All Liangmei Naga Students' Union (ALNSU) has urged the State Government to take up appropriate steps to ensure Government schools in Liangmei villages function efficiently.
In a statement, the student body said that due to negligence of school Headmasters and other employees, Government schools located in Liangmei villages are all in pathetic condition.
UJB Primary and Junior High School which was established in Liangmei inhabited villages has been totally neglected.
From misappropriation of fund to defunct SMDC, the school lacks basic educational facilities, the statement said.
It also appealed to the authority concerned to set up school in Kadi village, Tamenglong district, Leikhampokpi (Leimakhong) and Machangra, Kangpokpi district and also establish Anganwadi Centres at Makuilongdi Liangmei Colony, Senapati district, Machangram, Kangpokpi district and Kadi village, Tamenglong district.
It further urged the State Government to complete the construction work of Senapati-Oklong road and water reservoir at the earliest.
On the other hand, the statement informed that the union will be organising a felicitation programme for all the Liangmei students who have cleared the HSLC and HSSLC exams 2017 on June 21 at Liangmei Baptist Church, Dewlahland, Imphal.
