Ukhrul, March 09 2016:
The Tangkhul Shanao Long (TSL) today expressed strong resentment against the opposition group and dismissed the allegations and charges against TSL president SC Ringluiwon.
In a press conference held at UDWJA office today, a team of TSL executive members led by president SC Ringluiwon said that last year four executive members including the vice president of TSL tendered their resignations allegedly on the charge that the president lack of transparency.
However the incumbent TSL president furnished detailed clarifications on the allegations during the Kamjong TSL assembly last year.
The assembly after establishing the facts approved the resignation of the four executive members and inducted new office bearers with the approval of the assembly.
The executive members contended that yesterday's incident, in which the office of TSL was locked up, was the handiwork of those members who had resigned earlier in cahoots with the de-affiliated unit of TSL, Halang village.
T Keishing, who was in the office during yesterday's incident stated that a group of women led by the former TSL executive members came to the office and forced her out.
Thereafter they locked the office on the charge that the incumbent TSL president is misleading the women community.
According to the TSL executive members, the opposition group's intention was to disturb and spoil the TSL conference cum assembly and election scheduled to be held from March 14 to March 18 at Irong.
Strongly reacting to yesterday's incident, the executive members said that the act of sealing the TSL office was a direct challenge to the women community.
TSL president Ringluiwon added that the preparations for the coming TSL are ready.
