Imphal, February 09 2019:
The Naga People's Front will extend its full support and cooperation to the total Bandh on 11 February 2019 across the state called by the Nagaland GBs Federation (NGBF) to demonstrate the opposition against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 .
The NPF President, Dr.Shurhozelie Liezietsu has directed all the divisional presidents as well as the party leaders to cooperate and actively participate with the bandh called by the NGBF in their respective places and support so that the bandh went off peacefully and send clear message to the NDA Government at New Delhi that the Naga people in totality opposed the CAB.
The NPF also lambasted the statement made by the BJP General Secretary, Ram Madhav that the NDA Government will place CAB in Rajya Sabha for approval in the ongoing session as a supplementary when the whole the North East region is making hue and cry to scrap the Bill once and for all.
However, the NDA is ready to go with the contentious Bill harming the interests of the northeast people.
Hectic lobbying was taking place at Rajya Sabha to get the Bill passed at Rajya Sabha but the NPF reminded that its Rajya Sabha MP, KG Kenye will vote against the Bill if it is placed in the house.
The NPF also ask the general Naga public not to succumbed to any pressure but to be united in one voice and fight against the scraping of the CAB and protect the indigenous people of the state as well as the Northeast region.
