State disaster team heads for Nepal

Imphal, May 08 2015 :
Extending a helping hand to the victims of Nepal earthquake, a 15-member disaster team from the State on Friday left Imphal for Nepal.
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam flagged off the team at 2 pm from Kangla Fort gate here.
The disaster team is led by chef-de mission of the Youth Disaster Response Team, Manipur K Karnajit.
The team which comprises four doctors carried medicines, cloths and edible items to distribute to the quake victims.
Gaikhangam lauded the disaster team from the Youth Disaster Response Team for its courageous and generous step to help the quake victims.
More than 8,000 people had been killed in the Nepal quake of April 25 .
