Call for Peace, Unity echo at Tamenglong meet

Tamenglong, November 06 2013:
The Inriangluang Luh Chujaeng Phuam (Tamenglong Women Peace Forum) which was formed in the back drop of civil and political turmoil among various armed groups in Tamenglong district HQs in 2012, observed its 1st foundation day cum sport meets at the Stadium of Old Tamenglong under the theme 'Women Unite to Bring Social Change' on Wednesday.
The occasion was graced by Charles Liangdiyang, Member of ADC, Tamenglong as chief guest, Thiusingpou Pamei, Account Officer (AO), DRDA, Tamenglong as Guest of Honour and village elder Rk.

Speaking on the occasion, Charles pointed out that the world is changing fast and so the people should have an aim to change towards good and positive side and march forward to achieve the goal for the betterment of the society.
He observed that mother is the centre of the first institution (family) which is next to the society.
So, mothers have a great role and responsibility in moulding the society.
He also congratulates all the mothers for protecting and safeguarding the village during the turmoil that erupted in 2012 .
Thiusingpou Pamei advised the forum to have a clear vision to enable to bring about social change.
He also observed that many organisations have been formed but many of them were heard no more after few years.
Earlier delivering the key note address, Mrs TP Ramkianliu, President of Inriangluang Luh Chujaeng Phuam mentioned that forum was formed during turmoil and cries when underground groups clashes among themselves in Tamenglong last year.
She called upon women in Tamenglong district to stand united as unity is strength.

Aning, Senior Teacher, Sunday School Department Tamenglong Baptist Church were also among those who spoke on the occasion marked by presentation of traditional dance competition and volley match played among the women groups.
In her closing remarks, Asongdinliu Pamei, President Indigenous Women and Children Foundation (IWCF) Tamenglong called upon all man- folk and every section of the society and responsible members of the community to emulate the unity of today's women.
She said, "We cannot ignore the contribution of Inriangluang Luh Chujaeng Phuam' (Tamenglong Women Peace Forum).
Today, the desire, commitment and strive for the forgiveness, togetherness, love and peace is demonstrated in the form of games and sports and cultural items" .
The ultimate goal is for the service of the harmonious development of man, with a view to promote and protect peaceful society with the preservation of human dignity, Asongdinliu added.
