Governor reiterates call for peace

Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey has once again called for peace, harmony and mutual respect in the wake of the unfortunate incidents in the last few days.
In a statement issued today, the Governor noted the violent incidents the State had witnessed in the last few days and the disturbance in peace and mutual understanding caused due to the incidents.
The unfortunate incidents have claimed many lives and damaged private and public properties besides creating an atmosphere of insecurity, mistrust and fear among the citizens, the Governor noted and appealed to all to uphold the sense of brotherhood and mutual co-operation to dispel the feeling of fear and insecurity.
The State is known for peaceful co-existence of numerous communities for years and the same should be restored for all residing in the State are brothers and sisters, she stated.
Army, RAF, Assam Rifles, CRPF, BSF, Police and administrative officers, people's representatives and continuously working their best to ensure safety of all, she said while adding that the security forces are always ready to serve the people and deal with any kind of disturbances.

She also exuded confidence that peace and tranquillity will be restored in the State very soon.
