Imphal, June 04 2015 :
Irom Chanu Sharmila who has been on fast unto death since November 4, 2000 demanding the repeal of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 left Imphal on Thursday.
She has to appear before the Patiala House court on Friday.
On October 7, 2006 she had carried on her fast at Jantar Mantar in Delhi soon after being released in Imphal.
Despite heavy security she managed to slip away.
Delhi police who arrested her charged her with attempting to commit suicide and since then a case has been dragging on.
One doctor, two nurses, two police women and two jail officials accompanied her.
Talking to reporters she said that the Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar cares for his reputation and hu'rights and that is why he had recommended the withdrawal of the AFSPA from his State.
She was not happy that in Manipur the elected representatives are hankering after easy money.
She also said that people should join hands for the withdrawal of the AFSPA.
If she is given a chance she would like to meet the Prime Minister.
Since there are just three MPs from Manipur the voice of the people cannot be made heard elsewhere.
