Thirteen women mostly vegetable dealers sustained injuries this morning in a road mishap that took place at Keishampat near Mutum
Leirak.
The accident occurred when the bus (MN-01/0811) while trying to skirt around a rickshaw coming from Mutum Leirak skidded into the Nambul river bank.
The bus plying along Imphal-Wangoo route was being driven by its owner Laishram Debendra(46) of Nachou.
The injured passengers are undergoing treatment at RIMS.
They are identified as Arambam Lata (40) of Maibam Lotpa Ching, Ayekpam Ibemnungshi (56) of Maibam Lotpa Ching, Khoirom Manitombi (45) of Phoijing, Sorensangbam Mema (46) of Oinam, Oinam Shanti (66) of Nambol Laitonjam, Laishram Leibaklei (40) of Nachou Maning Leikai, Arambam Chandramukhi (47) of Bishnupur ward no 1, Khangenbam Sachi (47) of Bishnupur ward no 3, Maibam Lilabati (34) of Maibam Chingmang, Nongmaithem Thabirei (60) of Nachou, Laishram Ibecha (60) of Nachou Mayai Leikai, RK Sobita (40) of Ishok and Nameirakpam Pramo (60) of Bishnupur ward no 4 .
It is reported that all the injured victims are out of danger.
On the other hand, a youth coming on an Activa was killed when he rammed on an electric post at Khumbong Thongkhong Maning under Patsoi police station at about 6 pm yesterday.
The youth identified as Wareppam Ngangbi alias Bablu (20) of Moidangpok Mayai Leikai succumbed on the way to RIMS.
One brother of the deceased (uncle's son) also sustained injuries in the accident.
The injured brother identified as Wareppam Bijen (21) is undergoing treatment at JN Hospital.
The corpse has been handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS today.
