Imphal, May 31 2016:
The proscribed PREPAK (Progressive) has greeted all the people of Kangleipak (Manipur) on the occasion of the outfit's sixth raising day (June 1) .
A statement issued by the outfit's Chairman Paliba M remarked that successive generations of Kangleipak enjoyed freedom in the past although they encountered several challenges from time to time.
However, the present generation of people have been living a wretched life.
During the past 67 years, many groups of people who have been indoctrinated with Indian culture, religious faiths and a mental attitude of complete dependency on New Delhi have been groomed successfully.
Even though people of WESEA do not look like Indian people, many communities of the region tend to be pro-India.
Some of these communities have joined together to secure a separate political domain under the Indian Constitution in total contradiction of the natural historical trajectory.
On the other hand, many communities have been jubilating that the 'tribal sovereignty' has been acknowledged.
The concept of greater India or greater Bharat is influenced to a large extent by the philosophy of Indian religious leaders.
By igniting multiple inter-community wars and setting up refugee camps, large number of people in Africa, Latin America and Middle East countries have been placed at the mercy of NGOs.
In the same vein, external forces have been posing serious threats to the identities, economy, languages, culture, politics, demography and political boundary of Kangleipak.
Many external forces which have their origins in India have been working consistently to reduce the people of Kangleipak to the status of refugees in their own lands, it asserted.
It went on to question "How long the scheduled areas and scheduled communities of Kangleipak can withstand the onslaught of Indian capital, Indian Railways and Act East Policy?" .
The assertion that Kangleipak cannot survive without protection of the Government of India is a serious concern.
The political downfall, economic degradation and the resultant sense of insecurity felt by the people of Kangleipak today are outcomes of the many covert and overt strategies of the Government directed towards this end.
As such, the Constitution of India can never guarantee the security and well being of the people of Kangleipak.
It would be too far fetched to expect any long term policy from the political leaders of both the hills and valley of Kangleipak (Manipur).
Their primary interest lies in winning elections.
The only solution to all the woes plaguing Kangleipak is restoration of its lost sovereignty, Paliba asserted.
Its time for women activists as well as civil society organisations to take pro-active roles in shaping the younger generation towards the right path by weaning them away from intoxicating substances and by checking misuse of mobile phones and social networks, and by instilling a strong sense of patriotism among the young minds.
It further appealed to all the people to contribute whatever they can to the liberation movement being waged under the stewardship of the CorCom.
