Prison Smart Course in Central Jail, Imphal

The Manipur Central Jail in collaboration with Art of Living organised an eight-day "Prison Smart Course" exclusive for female prisoners.
T he formal function was held on Saurday inside the Central Jail, Old Lambulance.The course was started on May 26 and will conclude on June 2 .
Sixteen female prisoners' inmates participated in the smart course.
The course included yoga and other games to improve the mind and health conditions of the prisoners.
Speaking at the function senior faculty member, Art of Living Roshini Kumar said that the main objective of the course is to practise in its fullest form mentally, physically and emotionally.
The objective is to learn ways to overcome the stress, depression, health and various other psychological problems, he added.
SP, Central Jail Th Subhashchnadra stated that Art of Living or Yoga does not link with any religion but to learn the central meaning of life, leading to a better life.
He further asserted that the Manipur Central Jail mainly organised such course for the inmates so that they would learn to lead a better life, inspire the people and giving hope for the better days to come.
No one is born criminal but it is the negative environment which influences but to avoid or ignore such negativity in life one needs patience, strong will and positivity to face such obstacle in life.
He also appealed to all the inmates to keep practising the Art of Living so that it gives a new life to become a good citizen.
The function was also attended by Inspector S Touthang, Senior Faculty Member Art of Living and State Coordinator Roshini Kumar and Art of Living,teacher MO 7 MR Dr Noni and other high officials.
