Additional guidelines

In addition to the guidelines issued earlier in view of Yaoshang festival and emerging second wave in some States, the Government has again issued additional guidelines.
All persons who come out in public places shall wear face masks without fail and the size of family gatherings for social, religious and customary ceremonies should be restricted to 50 or less persons strictly, said the new guidelines.
Further, the size of the gathering for religious, sports, entertainment and cultural events should be restricted to 100 or less persons.
Those found violating the guidelines are liable to be charged under from Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 besides legal action under Section 188 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code).
All Deputy Commissioners and District Superintendents of Police shall enforce the Manipur Epidemic Diseases (Enforcement of COVID-19 Guidelines) Regulations, 2020 strictly.
The guidelines shall come into effect from April 1 and remain in force till April 30, said the Government order issued by the Home Department.
It may be noted that the Government had earlier banned all forms of contact sports, large gathering and monetary conscription besides prohibiting Thabal Chongba and Shumang Leela amid Yaoshang festival.
