16 more cases take total to 29,068

Imphal, January 31 2021:
With only 16 fresh infections, the State recorded zero death in the last 24 hours, said Government COVID-19 Common Control Room.
With the 16 fresh cases, the total number of positive cases has reached 29,068 while the number of active cases is 144 .
The number of recovered cases has reached 28,553 with a recovery rate of 98.22 percent and the death toll due to COVID-19 remains 371 .
The report of the COVID-19 Common Control Room said the 16 persons, who tested positive for Covid include six males and 10 females.
They tested positive at testing facilities at Shija (4), Churachandpur (4), JNIMS (2), RIMS (2), Bishnupur (2) and Senapati (2) .
They hail from Churachandpur (6), Imphal West (4), Bishnupur (2), Senapati (2), Thoubal (1) and Kakching (1) .
On the other hand, 8 people have recovered from the disease.
While 6 of them recovered while under home isolation, the remaining have been discharged from COVID-19 Care Centres opened at JNMIS (1) and District Hospital Churachandpur (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 29,068 including 25,643 civilians and 3,425 Central security personnel.
The total number of recovered cases is 28,553 including 25,143 civilians and 3,410 Central security personnel.
The number of active cases is 144 including 133 civilians and 11 Central security personnel.
It may be noted that the number of daily COVID-19 infections has been well under 20 since the last few days.
