Kohima, July 01 2021:
Former Nagaland Assembly Speaker and senior Opposition NPF MLA, Dr Chotisuh Sazo, has joined chorus of organizations and individuals in condemning the mysterious deaths of two Garo citizens and racism in Haryana.
Talking to NEPS on Thursday, the senior NPF MLA said late Rosy Sangma, who hailed from Nagaland, passed away at the ALFAA Hospital, Gurugram, Haryana on June 24 after consuming an ice-cream, and her cousin, late Samuel Sangma, also from Nagaland, was found hanging in his hotel room at Gurugram with injury marks on his body the next day.
A video and voice recording on the negligence of the hospital staff posted by late Samuel had claimed that his cousin late Rosy was recovering in the hospital but she suddenly died after eating an ice-cream provided by the hospital staff.
The video went viral.
The hospital staff allegedly assaulted Samuel when he confronted them for giving the ice-cream to his cousin.
Later, he was not allowed to see her in the hospital.
He was found hanging from ceiling of the hotel he was staying at Gurugram the next day with full of injury marks on his body.
Dr Sazo called upon the State Governments of the North East, irrespective of their party affiliations, to not only join in condemning the inhuman acts and racism to the people of the North East in mainland India but also demand a probe to the mysterious deaths of two Garo citizens, who hailed from Nagaland.
Justice should be delivered without delay, he said.
"We cannot remain silent on this inhuman acts perpetrated to the North East people with racial nature," he said.
"Today, it happens to the people from Nagaland.
Tomorrow, it may happen to anyone from the North East" .
They must fight to end this racism once and for all, he added.
