Govt urged to release MGNREGA funds

Manipur State Panchayat Parishad president Md Abdul Latif has urged the state government to release the MGNREGA and 15th Finance Commission funds at the earliest which have been already allocated to the state by the central government.
Speaking to the media after a meeting of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRls) at Panchayat Bhavan, Porompat on Tuesday, Latif confided that the meeting resolved to demand the government to release the pending MGNREGA liability fund 2020-21 of Rs 333 crore disbursed by the Union government to the state as first instalment for MGNREGA 2021-22 along withl5th Finance Commission fund allocated to the state as tied fund of second instalment for 2020-21 and tied-untied funds of the first instalment of 2021-22 .
He continued that another discussion on MGNREGA and 15th Finance Commission funds for PRIs will be organised at the same venue on October 20 and urged all Zilla Parishad adhyaksha, pradhan and ward members to attend the same.
