BJP Langthabal flays local MLA

BJP Langthabal Mandal has condemned MLA Karam Shyam for allegedly brandishing a weapon in a crowded place to intimidate certain individuals.
Speaking to media persons at Langthabal Kunja this evening, BJP Langthabal Mandal president Maibam Joykumar claimed that the conduct of Karam Shyam was allegedly aimed at creating division and animosity among the party members.
The alleged incident took place at the gate of one Pukhrambam Somorjit who is the State secretary of BJP and intending candidate for the 12th Assembly election from Langthabal Constituency at Lilong Chajing Pukhri Achouba Mapal on Thursday (November 25) .
Saying that the Mandal strongly condemned such 'goondaism', Joykumar contended that there is no place for gun culture in democracy.
He then appealed to the MLA to shun such manoeuvres in future.
Though Karam Shyam has joined the BJP recently, he has not submitted any documents to the Mandal, he said and added that the Mandal also doesn't recognise him (Karam Shyam).
Diving further into the incident where the MLA allegedly brandished a gun, Mandal vice-president Khoirom Tomba stated that some executives of BJP Langthabal Mandal went to P Somorjit's house to BJP Langthabal flays local MLA discuss strategies to strengthen the saffron party at around 8 pm yesterday.
As P Somorjit went to welcome BJP National president JP Nadda at the Imphal Airport, the executives waited for him at his (Somorjit) residence for a while, he said and added that a series of fights broke out during the period.
He claimed that Karam Shyam rushed to the site at around 9.20 pm and threatened some individuals.
Denouncing the incident, a sit-in protest was staged today at Langthabal Kunja.
