Trinamool Congress demands removal of Manipur University VC Prof Pandey

The Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress Committee (MPTCC) has demanded the resignation of the Manipur University Vice-Chancellor Adya Prasad Pandey for failure to resolve the present fiasco at the university that has curtailed the normal academic atmosphere and put the university in turmoil for the last many days.
In a statement issued to the press the MPTCC alleged that the VC is trying to saffronize the university by encouraging a particular student body with Sangh background.
Stating that the VC was wanting in meeting the demands of the Manipur University Students Union (MUSU) for streamlining of the university administration that had overlooked the demands of the MUSU that include appointments to the posts of Registrar, examination controller, finance officer etc., the MPTCC also stated that the Vice-Chancellor had put important positions under his tutelage while refusing to meet the standardized norms at the MU.
The controversial VC had brought the academic activities to a standstill and Admissions, declaration of exam results had come to a halt putting the careers of the students at risk and the incumbent VC terminable.
The statement demanded the immediate resignation of the VC while drawing the attention of the Minister of HRD Prakash Javedkar to use his office in bringing an end to the present fiasco at the MU.
