Manipur will get adequate rice: LJP

The Lok Janashakti Party Manipur State Unit has said that National leaders have given assurance that the flood affected people of Manipur will get adequate rice .
Addressing media persons today at the party office located at Babupara, a senior State LJP leader, Worthinton Mahung said that the LJP Manipur State unit including the district youth members, led by its president Thangkhangin Ngaihte, had participated in the National level meeting of the National executive committee from July 14 to July 18 .
The State unit put forward the issue of AFSPA under which garb atrocities have been committed against innocent people and demanded the repeal of the Act to which the National leaders responded that the issue will be taken up in a special discussion .
He also added that 10 metric tonnes of rice had already been released for the flood affected people by Ram Vilas Paswan, Union Minister for CAF and PD.
The Minister has given assurance that there would be no shortage of food items in future .
He further stated that even though the party is small in number, it is an important member of the NDA which is currently in power at the Centre and there is no talk of parting from the alliance .
One of the resolutions of the National executive committee was to work for the development of the people throughout the Nation.
Detailed discussions were held as how to strengthen the party further.
The roles of the youth and women were also discussed in detail .
The press meet was also attended by the spokesperson of the LJP Manipur State unit, Ningombam Ibohal and other important party leaders.
