New species of flower bloom in Ukhrul

Imphal, July 17 2016:
A new species of flower has been discovered in Mushroom Hills situated within Singcha village, Ukhrul district.
Located at over 7-km from Gamnom AR post along Kamjong road, Mushroom Hills is now home to the new species of flower which blooms in the upper reaches of the hills at an elevation of 7,000 metres above the sea level.
According to Yumnam Rajeshwor, founder of Second World War Campaign Foundation, the flower was first discovered by Singcha villagers two years back.

The height of the flower is over one metre and can be seen blooming within a radius of 4-5 kilometres.
It blooms only in the second week of July for two weeks.
Yumnam Rajeshwor also informed that the villagers plan to name the flower as "Princess of Flower" .
Though located within Singcha village, Mushroom Hills is 10 kilometres from the village.
One can take a glimpse of the picturesque view of the flower blooming majestically across the hills by paying Rs 100 as entry fee.
Boot and a raincoat will be provided to a tourist and will also be accompanied a guide.
