RIMS Nursing College hostel gutted

Hostel number 2 of RIMS Nursing College, was totally gutted in a fire today morning leading to loss of property and important documents of the students.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire.
The incident occurred at around 9.30 am today after a fire, suspected to be from an electric short circuit, erupted at Hostel No 2 of the Nursing College, while the students were on duty at RIMS.
Timely action of the State Fire Service prevented the fire from spreading to the nearby buildings and other structures of RIMS Nursing College.
It took the State Fire Service team, locals as well as personnel of the State Disaster Relief Force, more than an hour to bring the fire under control.
Speaking to media persons, Secretary of Trained Nurses Association, Th Binodini Devi said that after she spotted smoke coming from the side of Hostel No 2, she along with a few security personnel of the hostel, went to investigate and found that a fire had engulfed Hostel No 2 of the Nursing College.
She further stated that they only managed to save some documents and dresses of the hostellers from some of the rooms as the fire was spreading very fast from one room to another.
She continued that fortunately there were no casualties due to the fire as the nursing students were conducting their first duty inside the hospital.
67 students of Bsc 1st and 2nd Year were staying in Hostel No 2 which was gutted today and as such the nursing students have been shifted to RIMS Jubilee Hall Number 1 .
