ECI orders repoll in 19 Outer PS on Apr 18

Announcing that the ECI has ordered a repoll for 19 Polling Stations in connection with Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency election which was held on April 11, Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur, PK Singh, has informed that April 18 has been fixed for the repoll.
He also informed that for the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency election, all Polling Stations of Yaiskul and Bishnupur ACs will be manned only by women officials.
Speaking to media persons at Lamphel today, PK Singh informed that repoll will be held for 41/30 Mahoutera of Chandel AC, 44/21 Shangshak (B) of Ukhrul AC, 45/17 Poi A, 45/ 18 Poi B and 45/43 Kachai (A) of Chingai AC.
For Senapati district, repoll will be held at 47/1 Koide (1) and 47/37 Kdom Khavii of Karong AC, 48/11 Chawainu, 48/20 Songsong (B), 48/32 Makhel Keibi (A), 48/33 Makhel Keibi (B), 48/40 Tungam Khullen (D), 48/53 Tungjoy (D), 48/65 Laii (A) and 48/68 Laii (C) of Mao AC and 49/10 Tadubi (A-I) of Tadubi AC.
In the case of Churachandpur district, repoll will be held at 57/01 Sanglei, 57/03 Songkong and 57/18 Songphu of Henglep AC, he informed.
The CEO also explained that the authorities and officials concerned have been instructed to do the needful regarding the Polling Stations where the repoll will be held.
Mentioning that the ECI has also approved counting of the VVPAT slips for the Polling Stations which were unable to erase the EVMs after the mock poll, the CEO added that the ECI has also instructed the VVPATs from 5 random Polling Stations of each ACs to be randomly selected for counting.
He informed that all Polling Stations (38) of Yaiskul AC and all Polling Stations (40) of Bishnupur AC will be manned by only women officials while 15/32 Lamlong Higher Secondary School Polling Station will be manned by Persons with Disabilities.
599 Polling Stations will be live casted and polling officials will begin visiting the polling stations tomorrow, he added.
On the other hand, Additional CEO T Ranjit said that necessary instructions have been issued to the District Administrations and the police to facilitate immediate return of political functionaries and party functionaries who came to campaign.
Joint CEO Ramananda Nongmeikapam said that with the end of the campaign period, no electronic media can carry anything which is associated with election campaign.
