'Clean Moreh - Green Moreh' Drive

Imphal, December 14 2017:
11 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of IGAR(South) organized cleanliness drive followed by tree plantation in Moreh town along NH 102 between Friendship Bridge and Border Pillar 77 on 14 December 2017 from 0800 hours to 1000 hours.
A total of 135 civilians including 95 males and 40 ladies took part in this cleanliness drive.
The event was marked by overwhelming participation of all Civil Society Organisations, Moreh Police and Myanmar Army Officials.
Local populace and Assam Rifles personnel joined their hands for cleaning Moreh town and spreading awareness about hygiene and cleanliness amongst the locals.
The area which was being used as a garbage dump till recently was cleaned with the active assistance of ADC Moreh some time back.

To ensure beautification and no further dumping of garbage in the area, further cleanliness and a tree plantation drive was planned.
After cleaning of the area, 100 saplings provided by the forest Department were planted.
All the participants took resolve to keep the area and the town clean.
To preserve the environment, importance of cleanliness and of systematic waste disposal was also emphasized on the occasion.
With the overwhelming support of locals, Assam Rifles has been committed to such yeomen services.
The event was a significant milestone in ensuring 'Clean Moreh- Green Moreh' by joint efforts of Assam Rifles, local populace and all concerned government agencies.
The event achieved international dimensions and also showcased amicable Indo-Myanmar relations by blissful participation by Commanding Officer of Myanmar Army.
