Couple robbed at Kyamgei Khoirom Leikai

Unidentified miscreants robbed the gold jewelleries of a couple after assaulting them severely last night at Kyamgei Khoirom Leikai under Irilbung Police Station in Imphal East district.
According to reports, the incident occurred last night when the couple was returning home after downing the shutter of the stationery store
they were running.
The couple is identified as Thingujam Ingocha (50) and his wife, Th Renubala (47) of Kyamgei Khoirom Leikai.
They are running a stationery store, IR Educational Book Store, opposite MU Main Gate, Canchipur.
They were stopped by five persons near Khoirom Leikai Pump House.
After establishing their identity, the miscreants delivered a severe blow on the head of Ingocha.
Another potent blow was delivered on the head of Renubala when she tried to raise alarm.
Taking advantages of their unconscious state, the miscreants had robbed the gold necklace of Renubala and gold ring of Ingocha.
The couple were rushed to RIMS Hospital where they were later evacuated to Shija Hospital.
Ingocha is said to fight for his life at the ICU ward of Shija Hospital while his wife is treated at the general surgery ward of the hospital.
Family members said that the two could not identify the miscreants due to darkness.
Family members also registered a case at Irilbung Police Station in connection with the incident.
Meanwhile, the Youth Social Club, Kyamgei Khoirom Leikai, which Ingocha serves presently as its finance secretary strongly condemned the incident.
In a statement, the club demanded the concerned authority to book the culprits and award fitting punishment against them.
