Imphal, December 09 2014:
In a dramatic manner, a shopkeeper in Singjamei Super Market, Imphal West who went to Khwairamband Market to buy plastic chair for sell with Rs 1 lakh cash in his hands has gone missing since yesterday morning.
The shopkeeper is identified as Laishram Sunil (35) alias Khoimu s/o L Yaimachou of Pukhrambam Thingel under Wangoi Police Station.
It is suspected that he may have abducted for ransom.
Meanwhile, demanding safe release of L Sunil at the earliest, shopkeepers of Singjamei Super Market staged a sit-in-protest at the premises of the market today.

Speaking to newspersons, Sushila, wife of Sunil who was present at the protest demonstration said that her husband is an innocent person who has been looking after his family by income generated from the rented shop, while adding that neither Sunil has no enmity with anyone nor any organization has served monetary demand to the shop.
She narrated that two tribal individuals had came in the shop yesterday around 10 am and asked for 100 numbers of plastic chair.
As the number of chair available in the shop was less than the number they demanded, the duo handed over Rs 2000 to Sunil as advance and told the shopkeeper that they will be back again to collect the chairs they asked for.
After a while, Sunil with a cash amount of Rs 1 lakh in his hands went to Khwairamband Keithel to procure additional plastic chairs to meet the demand made by the duo.
But unexpectedly, his mobile phone was kept switched-off from around 12 pm.
Since then his whereabouts was not known, the aggrieved wife said.
She then fervently appealed to the concerned organizations to release Sunil safely at the earliest considering grievances of his family members.
Meanwhile, a Joint Action Committee has been formed in connection with the missing of the shopkeeper.
