CM opens vocational training programme

Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that people of the State are endowed with enormous talents and one should not hesitate to take up any work which would help in Nation building.
He was speaking at the opening function of a vocational training programme which was held via video conference at the Chief Minister's Secretariat today.
The Chief Minister appreciated National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) for undertaking such employment oriented and skill development programme.
Such vocational courses would provide employment opportunities to local youths and school dropouts and pave way for social and economic empowerment.
He stated that NHIDCL has already conducted two training programmes on operation and maintenance of construction equipment at Kakching and Tamenglong districts successfully.
The Chief Minister stressed that the present vocational training programme would train the youth from different districts on basic construction jobs such as masonry, carpentry, bar bender etc.
On Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for 'vocal for local', Biren said that such campaign would make India a self-reliant Nation.
The path to self reliance will be achieved by upgrading their skills, he added.
He also gave his best wishes to all the trainees.
Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister Ningthoujam Geoffrey, officials of NHIDCL and others were present at the function.
