Joint road survey

Imphal, January 07 2015:
India and Myanmar officials will conduct a joint road alignment survey regarding Imphal-Mandalay regular passenger bus service from January 11 to 15 .
According to a reliable source, the Myanmarese team which would be led by DG Rail Transport U San Aung, would comprise three Superintending Engineers of Ministry of Construction of Sagaing, Megway and Mandalay regions, one Home Ministry Director and one Lieutenant Colonel of Myanmar Traffic Force.
Led by Under Secretary (Border Management) of Ministry of External Affairs, the Indian team would include two Superintending Engineers of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and a top level Engineer from the State Public Works Department.

The team would commence survey from Imphal on January 11 and travel to Kalewa, Mandalay, Kalemeo and Yargyi, the source added.
It may be mentioned that the Government of India had already given its nod to introduce visa on arrival service at Moreh and Imphal airport in view of the passenger bus service between the two neighbouring countries.
