Imphal, January 07 2011:
Rubbishing the one day seminar on 'Fostering Civil Military Relations' held at Manipur University today as a sham exercise aimed at legitimizing the alien rule, the KCP-MC (Chingkheinganba) has asserted that the Manipuri University staff involved in organising the seminar are either traitors or conspirators.
A press release issued by the outfit's publicity and information secretary Chingkheinganba disclosed that the outfit sent its representatives to the seminar today.
It was observed that army personnel and staff constituted a vast majority of the audience which is a clear demonstration of whether or not Indian security personnel are welcome by the people.
Although Indian leaders are claiming that India is the largest democracy and a perfect one, the administrative system witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir and the North East region rule only testify that it is purely 'military despotic rule' .
New Delhi's policy based on the preconceived notion that the Indo-Manipur conflict is an internal strife or a law and order problem or an uprising by unemployed youth shows how long Indian occupation of Manipur without people's consent will last.
Hitting back at GOC Maj Gen Red Shield Maj Gen DS Hooda's statement that human rights are inalienable to the people of Manipur, the outfit asked if the GOC meant right to die.
What the people of Manipur are aspiring for are right to self determination and right to live with dignity.
Right to freedom for the people of Manipur can be realised when Manipur regains independence and Indian security forces leave Manipur, the outfit asserted.
Contradictory to the GOC's claim that army is in Manipur to ensure security of the people, the outfit contended that it is the security personnel and army who have been violating rights of the people.
Manipuri people never pose a threat to Indian nationalism or their national security.
Asking if Manipur is a practice ground for Indian armed forces, the outfit questioned implications of the GOC's statement that army cannot operate without the infamous Armed Forces Special Powers Act.
If the insurgents taking assistance from the people for the liberation movement is termed as extortion, what term would be given to security forces looting money and valuables from the houses of civilians during combing operations and confiscation of goods at Khudengthabi and Tengnoupal, the outfit asked.
Stating that Chandraskhar Azad, Bhagat Singh etc were notorious terrorists during British rule though they idolized as heroes after Indian independence, the outfit said, "Indian army may patriots since they are instrumental in keeping Manipur under the alien rule but to us they are villain and are enemy".
A patriot would not commit rape, asserted the outfit referring to the GOC's claim that all army personnel deployed in Manipur are highly patriotic.
Taking strong exception to the use of the term 'separatists' by some resource persons at today's seminar, the outfit asked the particular individuals to contact the party.
