Indo-Myanmar border trade to resume tomorrow

Indo Myanmar border trade which had been shut down since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic is all set to resume from tomorrow.
As per a report in Myanmar Times, Tamu Merchants Association had officially announced that the Myanmar-India border trade in Sagaing Region will resume on January 6 as COVID-19 infections in the area have declined, said an official of the Tamu Merchants Association.
India and Myanmar closed on March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and following that the border trade between the two countries remain shut.
Most of the India Myanmar border trade passed through Tamu crossing , and the Reed crossing in Chin state.
Officials will enforce health rules when the border trade resume, the Tamu Merchant Association was quoted as saying.
