High Court issues notices to State Government

A single-Judge Bench of the High Court of Manipur headed by Justice Kh Nobin on October 27 issued notice to Chief Secretary, DGP Manipur Police, DG BSF and SP Thoubal returnable on November 26 on a writ petition filed by one Ningombam Puinabati.
The filed writ petition mentioned that Thongram Angou, husband of one Thongram ongbi Premeshwori of Tekcham Mamang Leikai had allegedly stolen the High School Leaving Certificate Examination Certificate and its related documents of Ningombam Kuber, husband of Ningombam Puinabati of Sapam Mayai Leikai.
Using the certificate and impersonating himself as N Kuber, Thongram Angou joined the BSF and died in a bomb blast.
As such the family members of the (L) Thongram Angou are getting pension and other benefits while the petitioner's husband (Ningombam Kuber) neither could get any Government job as he was assumed as Government servant nor his family members are entitled to any benefit/scheme meant for poor, the petition mentioned.
The petitioner further alleged that family members of (L) Thongram Angou threatened the petitioner's family when they filed a complaint narrating the facts to the OC of Khongjom police station on April 17, 2021 .
The writ petition was thus filed seeking necessary action, compensation and urging to recover money of the Government of India misused by Thongram ongbi Premeshori.
The Bench admitted the petition and on October 27 issued notice to all the respondents of the case (Thongram ongbi Premeshori, Chief Secretary, DGP Manipur Police, DG BSF and SP Thoubal).
Niranjan Sanasam, Government Advocate, accepted the notice on behalf of the State Government.
The Bench also directed Petitioner counsel to serve notice to respondent- DG BSF, New Delhi by speed post and list the matter for further hearing on November 26 .
