Imphal, August 30 2022:
At least six student organisations have written to Chief Minister N Biren Singh to resolve the issue of allotment of examination centres of CUET PG 2022 outside the State.
A statement jointly issued by AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA, SUK and AIMS said that many students from the State who want to undergo Post Graduate courses at Manipur University are facing lots of inconvenience due to the allotment of examination centres outside the State.
Saying that maximum number of students from Manipur belongs to economically backward families and they might not be able to give the CUET examination 2022, the statement continued that some of the students who opted for three subjects faced a lot of inconvenience as they have to give two or all of their papers on the same day or the first few days of the examination in different States.
Urging the Chief Minister to arrange alternative arrangements for the students from Manipur whose examination centres have been allotted outside the State, the six student organisations also 'suggested that Manipur University be exempted from CUET PG examination as there is limited digital connectivity, poor infrastructure and considering the economic backwardness of the State' .
