2 UTLA men held for attacking chairman

Exactly a week after the chairman of UTLA, an armed group under SoO, was attacked by armed men in front of his residence at Tollen village, the Churachandpur police have today arrested two UTLA cadres belonging to a rival faction who were reportedly involved in the attack.
The district police swung into action after receiving inputs about the two accused taking shelter at K Lhangnom village.
The police team which split in two groups, according to the SP Churachandpur Rakesh Balwal, conducted a raid in the village later in the evening and arrested two UTLA cadres, from the residence of one of the accused.
The arrested duo who are said to be from the general secretary's faction have been identified as Robert Thangboi Kipgen of K Lhangnom and Thensei Singsit of Boljol village.
A case under section 307/326/34 IPC & 25(1-c) Arms Act has been slapped against the attackers who are now in police custody.
