Imphal, October 28 2017:
Bulk LPG transportation to Sekmai bottling plant has ceased following resumption of cease work strike by the All Manipur Bulk LPG Transporters' Association (AMBTA) since yesterday .
A few months back, LPG consumers of the State were facing acute shortage of LPG refills due to heavy rainfall, floods, landslides and other disruptions on National Highways .
Even though dry season has set in and LPG scarcity has been addressed to a considerable extent, LPG consumers are once again staring at another spell of
acute scarcity of the same commodity .
Taking serious note of the unfolding situation, CAF&PD Minister Karam Shyam held a meeting with IOC officials this afternoon .
IOC officials presented a detail account of the AMBTA's cease work strike during the meeting, conveyed a source .
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, Karam Shyam appealed to the LPG bulk transporters to call off their strike in the interest of the people .
Heeding to the Minister's appeal, AMBTA held a meeting at 4 pm today but the meeting could not arrive at any concrete decision.
